FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions: Lawn Insect & Grub Shield

Understand how this service protects your lawn through Oklahoma’s toughest pest season—and what’s required for the guarantee to stay in effect.

Question

How does the plan work?

Two visits: a spring preventive Acelepryn® application for soil pests and a late-summer surface-pest control visit. Together, they protect both roots and turf canopy through Oklahoma’s pest season.

Question

Are treatments safe for children and pets?

Yes. Once the treatment has dried, after watering-in, it’s safe to resume normal activity. Our technicians follow Oklahoma pesticide law and post safety signage when required.

Question

Do I need to water-in the spring application?

Yes — this step is required for the manufacturer guarantee to remain valid. Watering-in within 24 hours helps move the Acelepryn® into the thatch and root zone, activating the product where grubs and billbugs feed. Without irrigation, the product remains on the surface and cannot deliver full-season protection or qualify for guaranteed coverage.

Question

What pests are covered under the 120-day guarantee?

The manufacturer’s 120-day guarantee applies only to the spring Acelepryn® preventive application. When applied correctly and watered-in as directed, it provides up to 120 days of protection from white grubs, billbugs, and turf-feeding caterpillars from the date of application. Syngenta provides one curative treatment at no cost if verified breakthrough of covered pests occurs within the 120-day period The late-summer treatment is supplemental and targets surface-level pests such as fleas, ticks, and active caterpillars present at the time of service; it is not included in the manufacturer guarantee.

Question

What results should I expect?

A visibly healthier, more resilient lawn—protected from the most common insect threats all summer. Occasional pest activity may appear near the end of the season; contact us for a quick inspection if damage occurs.

Technical Specification & Guarantee Statement

To qualify for the manufacturer-backed 120-day grub guarantee, this service is performed using Acelepryn® (chlorantraniliprole, Group 28 insecticide) at a broadcast rate of 0.28 fl oz per 1,000 sq ft (12 fl oz per acre), applied April through May in accordance with the EPA-registered label (EPA Reg. No. 100-1489). Applications are made with calibrated ground-spray equipment delivering a minimum of 2 gallons of finished spray per 1,000 sq ft. After drying, the treated area must be watered-in with ≥ 0.1 inch of irrigation to activate the product in the thatch and root zone. This timing and rate provide season-long protection from white grubs and billbugs, plus up to 120 days of turf-caterpillar suppression when client responsibilities are met. The guarantee applies only when applications are made exactly as described and Syngenta’s verification and claim process is followed. This disclosure documents the material and rate supporting the manufacturer guarantee and does not authorize off-label use or modification of any registered product.
